In a marathon, the last couple of miles are where races are won and lost. Athletes that have paced themselves finish strong and others fade. We are now six months away from the finish line of our Generations Campaign. Will we finish strong? Will you help us cross the finish line with a win?

Paul wrote a letter to the church at Corinth encouraging them to finish strong. Like Forest Park, the church at Corinth had made a pledge to give to an offering that Paul was collecting to extend God’s Kingdom and help the needy. Paul said, “And here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.” (2 Corinthians 8:10-11) God wants the same for us. “Now finish the work.”

Pray about your part for the last six months of this campaign. Perhaps you need to finish giving your pledge. Maybe you could give a one-time gift to make up for those who dropped out of the race. With 80% of the time elapsed, 71% of our pledges have been received. Could God be calling you to help us finish strong?

Paul made a promise to the Christians at Corinth. “You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:11) The finish line is in sight. Thanks for helping us finish strong!
